Remembering RUDY

Rudy came to us when she was 2 years old after the passing of Maya. Her original owners were looking for a home that could give her lots of love. As they drove down the driveway on River Road, Napanee, they knew they had found a new home for her. Rudy bounded out of the truck, ran around the property and met Molly. Molly wasn't to sure about Rudy, after all she had just lost her cousin Mya, but after 2 weeks they became friends and it was a life time of fun and adventures for both of them. Her best friend was her sister Molly. Rudy also had another part-time friend, her brother Oreo our cat. Oreo liked Rudy better than Molly for some reason, I guess Oreo liked it when Rudy would give her nudges, must have felt good to Oreo. Rudy and Molly loved their home. What a team they were, running and playing on 32 acres of property, chasing squirrels, rabbits and playing with the snakes using them as frisbees. Where every Rudy was, you could bet Molly was right behind her. Some of Rudys favorite things to do was caughting golf balls when Bobby would hit them to her and diving for rocks in the water. Rudy and Molly shared a boyfriend named Foster, Foster was the dogson of Pat and Al Craig our neighbors. Foster loved coming to the house to visit Rudy and Molly, it was a dog's dream having his Harem living close to him. It was easy for him to visit. One of Rudy's and Molly's favorite things to do was going on RV Trips. We never forgot them when we took an RV trip. What adventures the two of them got into. One of the funniest but not so funny when it happened is the time they found a skunk. Boy did they get it good from the skunk especially Rudy. Full face skunk smell. Rudy had her face in the skunks butt and wham, the skunk let her have it good. Not so good for us. We had to figure out how we were going to keep the skunk smell out of the RV. Well, we won't very successful with keeping the skunk smell out of the RV. By the time we were finished with cleaning them up, we smelt like skunk. It took a very long time for the skunk smell to clear out of the RV. In December of 2013 we lost Molly. She got sick, so we had to put her down. Rudy, was sad, but we decided to wait to introduce her to a new playmate. She was getting older and we won't for sure if she would feel like a new playmate. Christmas of 2014, we found Snickers and brought him home to be with Rudy. Rudy wasn't to sure about Snickers at first but soon enough they were best buddies. Snicker just loved Rudy and I think Rudy thought of Snickers as her child. She loved him and would protect him at times. I miss Rudy and Molly so much, but I do know they are together again and will be waiting for Bobby and I at the Rain-Bow Bridge. Some of her other friends - Angel, Bill Nutes dog, Sammy, at the park in Napanee; Buddy and Cooper, they would join Molly and Rudy at the Napanee park too and Bob in Sarasota.
