The Grassroots with Rob Grill  had an amazing 15 Top 30 hits from 1966-72, and had almost continuous chart presence with their hits. Rob Grill with the Grassroots had two gold albums and one went platinum.Rob” Grill (born November 30, 1943 in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer, songwriter and bass guitarist best known as lead singer of the highly successful (between 1967 and 1972) rock and roll band, The Grass Roots.

He launched a solo career in 1979, assisted on his solo album by several members of Fleetwood Mac. Responding to 60s nostalgia, Grill then reformed The Grass Roots (now billed “The Grass Roots Starring Rob Grill”) and has toured the United States since the 1980s.

In 2008, The Grass Roots Starring Rob Grill released a live album chronicling their 14 top forty Billboard hits titled Live Gold.

Rob died from complications of a head injury sustained in a fall(fell of a Ladder in mount Dora where he lived in Florida) in June 2011. After suffering two strokes following the fall, each located in different parts of his brain, he fell into a coma.[4] With his wife Nancy by his side, Grill died July 11, 2011 in an Orlando, Florida hospital from complications after a stroke
